Garfield Super Block Artist Talks at MBC Cherry St
Live Music at MBC Cherry St: Beserat Tafesse Quartet

Honored to announce Beserat Tafesse’s Quartet residency at MBC Cherry St!!! Beserat will be playing on the 4th Thursday of July, August AND September! His jazz style is a blend of traditional Ethiopian Jazz, American jazz, and various other influences. Raised by Ethiopian immigrants in the Pacific Northwest, Tafesse’s musical background is deeply rooted in the fusion of Ethiopian classical music and American jazz, known as “Ethiojazz”. And if you know Ethiapian classical music, than Beserat’s quartet is gonna blow your mind.
Tafesse studied classical euphonium and valve trombone before fully embracing jazz trombone at the Manhattan School of Music. His sound is described as strong and melody-based, often leaning towards bebop saxophone in his rapid passages, which is evident in his performances and recordings.
Catch him live at MBC Cherry St on the fourth Thursday of July, August, and September for a spectacular, vibey, and fab jazz experience!
