Introducing the first in an annual release from Métier Brewing. Manumission is a carefully crafted Imperial Stout recipe that will age each year in a different combination of barrels. We're excited to see how this unique recipe changes and evolves over time with the different barrels being used. Manumission 2022 was aged 12 months in a combination of Cognac puncheons and Rum barrels. Both barrels bring different unique fruit flavors that compliment this dark and roasty beer. The Rum Barrels hit your first on the aroma, with overripe funky tropical notes. On the sip you taste sweet candied fruit from the Cognac puncheon. Then the beer finishes smooth with flavors of dark chocolate tying everything together. A bold and complex beer to drink slowly to appreciate the different combination of flavors.
