Please join us in welcoming Majken R. as our newest MBC Founder’s Club member. If you’ve been to the brewery recently, you’ve likely seen Majken working on a vibrant nine foot mural. She and friends cut and glued mosaic tiles and fit them across used bike parts, gears, and tires. This mosaic mural hangs out on the patio, but does change locations daily. Check out where the mural is featured in the brewery, and snap a photo with it! It’s without a doubt photo worthy and adds to the MBC experience!
Our anniversary party will look a bit different this year. We would still love to maintain the core of what makes a great celebration. Catch us July 16-19 with raffle giveaways, beer releases (both casked and brand new), and a fun party playlist. Please go online to reserve a spot for you and the whole family so we can all celebrate safely!
Kickstarter Campaign: Now that our campaign has ended, we are excitedly fulfilling all the rewards we’ve promised to all of you. Again, we thank the almost 600 of you who absolutely SMASHED our goal. If you haven’t already, head to the brewery during regular business hours to claim your prize!*
*Black Brew Culture Merch will be fulfilled by Mike from BBC. Estimated time of delivery is 3 weeks out. We will keep you updated! If you are not familiar, BBC is helping write a #newnarrative in craft beer by adding terms like exposure, access and equity to the definition of diversity and advocating a far bigger picture than just creating more consumers. Visit their website to learn more and to check out all their merch.
At MBC, we unabashedly aim to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive space… so we weren’t surprised with this recent inquiry. A customer shared his lack of understanding and empathy with frustrations and issues being voiced today about racial injustices in America. He expressed interest to learn a bit more about it. Per guidance from our Founder Club member/resident Dr. Byers, we suggested the customer pick up a book like Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility. She is a significant voice in our civilization grappling with whiteness. Thank you Dr. Byers! This week Robin DiAngelo joined Resmaa Menakem for the On Being podcast. Resmaa Menakem is a Minneapolis-based healer, author, and trauma specialist. If you are curious and yearning more on this discussion, check it out.

MBC Food Offerings:
We’ve been flexing different food options at the brewery. Along with our scheduled food trucks, we have delicious small bites available!
Starting this week we’ll have Pans available from Umami Kushi. In Japan, okazu pans are known as small grab and go bread that consists of a savory filling, the most popular being curry beef.
All of their okazu pans are made by Chef Harold and his team in his Rainier Beach kitchen using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Seattle Met ranked his pans in the “10 (Local) Stocking Stuffers for Food Lovers”. And Seattle Refined says, “This Japanese street food restaurant might just be our new favorite!”
Find these at the brewery, along with soft hot pretzels, nuts, and popcorn!
Reservations:
For everyone’s good health and safety, we now have a reservation system! You can secure your spot at the brewery by going here.
We are working within King County’s limitation on capacity, so we appreciate your patience as we all navigate through these challenging times.
——–
We have temporarily closed the kids’ area. Please know we have everyone’s health in mind as we make this decision. We will keep you all updated as we adapt to new phase regulations. We are still kid friendly and welcome young folks at your table to enjoy an apple juice (and maybe a pretzel) as they play with our dinosaur toys!
