Private event FAQ

What is included in private events?

Exclusive access to the taproom for 6 hours, including setup and clean-up time.
Access to all our brews on tap, plus wine from WeRise Wine and Saanj Winery.
MBC beertenders! The number staffed depends on your group size and duration.
Coordination with our Events Specialist. For any large-scale requests or services, additional fees may apply.

What is the capacity?

60 seated, 80 standing. An additional 20 guests are allowed on our outdoor patio.

What about my pets or my children?

We are kid and pet friendly! We love well-behaved children and pets.

How does food work for private events?

Lil’ Brown Girl, our in-house food partner at the Cherry St taproom, caters all events for MBC. Their catering menu features loved items from That Brown Girl Cooks and COMMUNION Restaurant, making it easy for you and your guests to share and enjoy during your event.

Catering is handled separately and needs additional coordination with their catering team after you secure your event date with us. An outside catering fee applies for any external catering. Outside desserts are allowed!

Can we decorate the space for our event?

Simple decorations are welcome. Decorations that may damage our furniture or walls are not permitted.

What other drinks do you serve at the bar?

Aside from MBC beer, we have a rotating cider on tap, wine (see below), our house N/A MBC Hop Water, MBC root beer, and apple juice. If you’d like to bring in other N/A drinks like soda and sparkling water, let us know.

Can I serve wine or other hard alcohol at my event?

Wine – We’re proud to feature local Seattle wines from Saanj Winery, a Black and Punjabi-owned winery, and WeRise Wines, a Black and women-owned winery and wine bar, on our current tap list. If you’d like to bring your own wine in, we charge a corkage fee of $20 per bottle; our beertenders will open and serve all drinks brought in.

Other alcohol – We do not allow any spirits or hard alcohol without a banquet license.

What A/V equipment do you have?

A projector and screen, taproom speakers for your favorite Spotify playlist, as well as a microphone.
